Tricks that help
- Count in 32s: start at 32 and add 32 each time (32, 64, 96, 128, 160…).
- Split 32 into 30 and 2: 32 × 7 = 30 × 7 + 2 × 7 = 210 + 14 = 224.
- 32 is double 16, so double the 16 times table: 16 × 7 = 112, and double 112 is 224.
- 32 × 10 = 320: multiplying by 10 adds a zero to the end.
- Every fact has a twin: 32 × 7 = 7 × 32 = 224. If you know one, you know both.
- The last digits of the first ten answers go 2, 4, 6, 8, 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 0.
