Tricks that help

  • Count in 19s: start at 19 and add 19 each time (19, 38, 57, 76, 95…).
  • Split 19 into 10 and 9: 19 × 7 = 10 × 7 + 9 × 7 = 70 + 63 = 133.
  • 19 × 10 = 190: multiplying by 10 adds a zero to the end.
  • Every fact has a twin: 19 × 7 = 7 × 19 = 133. If you know one, you know both.
  • The last digits of the first ten answers go 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0.
