About Flags of the World Quiz
Flags are a fun way into geography. Each flag is a little picture of a country: the stars on the flags of Australia and New Zealand show the Southern Cross, the maple leaf stands for Canada, and the wheel on the flag of India is an ancient symbol. Once children know a flag, they spot it at sporting events, on the news and on food labels, and every sighting is a chance to talk about where that country is and what it is like.
Easy, for Primary 1–2, uses the best-known flags, gives three choices and shows the continent as a clue. Medium, for Primary 3–4, uses all of the flags with four choices. Hard, for Primary 5–6, puts lookalike flags side by side, such as Ireland, Italy and Côte d’Ivoire, or Romania and Chad, so children must look closely at the colours and their order. All flags are drawn as simple pictures, so a few small details (like the coat of arms on some flags) are left out.

Frequently asked questions
How many flags are in the quiz?
There are more than 80 flags from Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Oceania, including Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, the Philippines, Canada and the United States.
Why do some flags look almost the same?
Many flags use the same few colours in stripes. Some pairs are nearly identical: Romania and Chad differ only in their shade of blue, and Indonesia and Monaco differ only in shape. The Hard level is all about spotting these differences.
Can I print the flags?
Yes. Press Flag chart on the start screen to see every flag with its name, sorted by continent, then press Print chart. It makes a handy poster for a classroom or bedroom wall.
