About Place Value Quest
Place value is the foundation of almost all written math. Children who understand that the 4 in 3,482 is worth 400 find addition, subtraction, rounding and decimals far easier.
Start with tens and ones in Grades 1–2, then build to thousands (Grades 3–4) and hundred thousands (Grades 4–5).
