About Measure It!
Measuring well starts with choosing a sensible unit: you would not measure a pencil in km or a bath of water in mL. This game builds that sense of size first, then moves on to converting between units, a skill used in science, cooking and everyday life.
Kids in Grades 1–2 can start with best unit questions. Easy conversions with whole numbers suit Grades 3–4, and harder conversions with decimals, like 1.5 m = 150 cm or 0.75 kg = 750 g, suit Grades 5–6. Every answer is exact. On the US site, questions also include inches, feet, yards, ounces, pounds, cups, quarts and gallons.

Frequently asked questions
How do you convert between metric units?
Learn the key facts: 10 mm = 1 cm, 100 cm = 1 m, 1,000 m = 1 km, 1,000 g = 1 kg and 1,000 mL = 1 L. To go to a smaller unit, multiply; to go to a bigger unit, divide.
Why is 1.5 hours not 150 minutes?
An hour has 60 minutes, not 100. Half an hour is 30 minutes, so 1.5 hours is 60 + 30 = 90 minutes. The game includes this common mistake as a wrong answer to watch out for.
What age is this measurement game for?
It suits children aged about 6 to 12. Younger kids should start with the best unit level.
