About States & Capitals Quiz

Knowing the states, provinces or regions of their own country gives children a mental map that makes the news, the weather forecast, sport and family holidays make more sense. This quiz adapts to each country version of the site: Australian children learn the six states and two mainland territories, Canadian children the provinces and territories, Indian children the states and union territories, and so on.

Children in Grades 2–3 can start with the Capitals level. In Grades 4–5 they can try Reverse, which works backwards from a city to its region, and Grade 6 can take on the World level. Every answer comes with a short fact, so wrong answers still teach something.
