Yes. The Department of Education (DepEd) recognises homeschooling as an Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) through its Homeschooling Program, set out in DepEd Order No. 001, s. 2022 (Revised Policy Guidelines on Homeschooling Program). Under this program your child is enrolled with a public or private school that offers homeschooling, and you teach at home with the school's support.
- Both public and private schools can offer the Homeschooling Program. Private schools need a Permit to Offer from DepEd, and public schools need authorisation from the DepEd Regional Office.
- Parents or guardians are the primary teachers and are responsible for monitoring their child's work and progress.
- The school head assigns a Homeschool Coordinator who enrols learners, monitors their progress and supports parents.
- Learners should have textbooks or modules in print or digital form, a suitable learning space at home and a learning plan.
- The program follows the DepEd curriculum, which is moving to the MATATAG Curriculum in phases from School Year 2024โ2025.
- Policies are updated from time to time. Ask the school you plan to enroll with and check DepEd's website for the current rules.
