Tricks that make it easier

  • Think of the multiplication fact: 42 รท 6 = ? because 6 ร— 7 = 42.
  • Use fact families: one fact gives you four (two multiplications, two divisions).
  • Halve to divide by 2, halve again to divide by 4.
