How to play Math Rocket
- Choose a game: adding and taking away, times tables, division or a mix of all four. For times tables and division you can pick one table or practise them all mixed.
- Read the target at the top, such as "= 24", "multiples of 7" or "6 × ? = 42". Steer with the arrow keys, by dragging on the game, or with the on-screen buttons.
- Fly into the asteroids that match the target to score points and build a combo. Bumping into a wrong one costs a life, so dodge them!
- Catch the glowing power-ups for a shield, slow motion or double points. Every 10 catches starts a new, faster wave. When the game ends you will see the facts to practise.

About Math Rocket
Fact fluency comes from lots of short, happy practice, and Math Rocket hides that practice inside a real arcade game. Every asteroid carries a sum or a number, so children are working out answers dozens of times a minute without it ever feeling like a worksheet. Because the target changes every few catches, they must keep checking each rock against the rule, which builds both recall and careful reading of number sentences.
Adding and taking away suits Grades 1–2, starting with sums to 10 and growing to numbers up to 50. Times tables and division suit Grades 3–5, and the mixed game, with all four operations aiming at one target, is a great challenge for Grades 5–6. A calm setting slows everything down and gives five lives, and at the end of each game the "Facts to practise" list shows exactly which facts to revise.

Frequently asked questions
How do I play Math Rocket on a phone or tablet?
Drag your finger left and right on the game to steer the rocket, or hold the big arrow buttons under it. The game fits small screens, and the pause button stops the action at any time.
What does each power-up do?
The blue shield saves you from one wrong asteroid, the purple clock makes everything fall slowly for a few seconds, and the gold ×2 doubles your points for a few seconds.
Is there an easier way to play?
Yes. Choose the Calm speed on the start screen. The asteroids fall much more slowly, the game speeds up only a little, and you get five lives instead of three. Missing a right answer in calm mode does not break your combo.
Can I practise just one times table?
Yes. Choose Times tables or Division, then pick a table from 2 to 12. Choose Mixed to start with the 2, 5 and 10 times tables and add harder tables in later waves.
