About Parts of Speech
Knowing the parts of speech helps children write better sentences and understand grammar lessons at school. Seeing words in real sentences shows that a word’s job depends on how it is used.
Quick reminder: a noun is a person, place or thing; a verb is an action; an adjective describes a noun; an adverb describes how something is done.
