How to play Greater Than, Less Than
- Choose how big the numbers are, from up to 20 all the way to decimals.
- Look at the two numbers.
- Choose < (less than), = (equal to) or > (greater than).
- Remember: the crocodile’s mouth always opens towards the bigger number!

About Greater Than, Less Than
Comparing numbers relies on understanding place value: looking at the biggest place first. Close pairs like 4,582 and 4,528 make kids check digit by digit.
The decimals level is a great challenge for Grades 4–6, where many students wrongly think 0.45 is bigger than 0.5.
