Two letters can make one sound. Use ck straight after a short vowel at the end of a word: back, duck, sock.
Week 3: long vowels ee and oa

These words do not follow the usual sounds. Find the tricky part (the ai in said) and practise it.
Tip
Look at the word and say it aloud, cover it, write it from memory, then uncover it and check. Practise a few words each day rather than all ten at once, and use each word in a sentence.
