Look at the word and say it. Cover it, write it, then check and tick.

Learn the words in families: if the adjective ends in -ant, the noun usually ends in -ance (distant, distance).

ough can make several different sounds. Group the words by sound: bought and thought; rough, tough and enough.
Tip
Look at the word and say it aloud, cover it, write it from memory, then uncover it and check. Practise a few words each day rather than all ten at once, and use each word in a sentence.
