Tricks that make it easier

  • Sing the days and months in order every morning.
  • Use the knuckle trick: knuckles are months with 31 days, the gaps between them have 30 (or 28/29 for February).
  • Remember the rhyme: "30 days has September, April, June and Novemberโ€ฆ"
  • Point to today on a real calendar and ask: what day is tomorrow? What was yesterday?

Common mistakes

  • Mixing up the order of June and July.
  • Thinking every month has 30 days.
  • Forgetting February has 29 days in a leap year.
