About Maths Maze
Maths Maze turns number facts into a puzzle. Every square in the grid shows a number, a sum or a fraction, and only some of them match the rule. To reach the finish, children have to check each square before they step on it, so they practise the same fact again and again without it ever feeling like a worksheet. Dead ends mean they also have to think ahead and plan a route.
Junior mazes on a 5 × 5 grid, for Years 2–3, cover odd and even numbers, sums that make 10, and counting in fives and tens. Middle mazes on a 6 × 6 grid, for Years 4–5, use the 3 to 9 times tables. Senior mazes on a 7 × 7 grid, for Years 6–7, ask for factors, prime numbers, square numbers and fractions equal to one half. Every maze is built by the computer with at least one safe trail, and the other squares never match the rule.

Frequently asked questions
What happens after a wrong step?
The square shakes, it is marked with a cross and you lose one of your 3 lives, but the frog stays where it was so you can try another way. If all 3 lives are used, the game shows a safe trail and you move on to the next maze.
Is there always a way through?
Yes. Every maze has at least one trail of matching squares from START to FINISH. Some matching squares are dead ends, so if you get stuck, hop back and try another direction.
What is a prime number?
A prime number has exactly two factors: 1 and itself. 2, 3, 5, 7, 11 and 13 are prime. 9 is not prime because 3 × 3 = 9, and 1 is not prime because it has only one factor.
