If you can hear a whole word before the ending, it is usually -able (enjoy, enjoyable). If not, it is often -ible (possible).

Week 2: ie and ei

ough can make several different sounds. Group the words by sound: bought and thought; rough, tough and enough.

Tip

Look at the word and say it aloud, cover it, write it from memory, then uncover it and check. Practise a few words each day rather than all ten at once, and use each word in a sentence.
