Easter learning ideas at home

  • Egg hunt maths: Number the eggs before you hide them. Your child adds up the numbers on the eggs they find, or finds them in order.
  • Sharing chocolate: Share a bag of small eggs equally between family members. How many each? Are there any left over?
  • Spring nature walk: Look for signs of spring (or autumn in the southern hemisphere): new leaves, blossom, baby birds. Draw and label three things you spot.
  • Egg and spoon timing: Time an egg and spoon race and record the results in a table. Who was fastest? By how many seconds?
  • Hot cross bun fractions: Cut a bun into halves and quarters and talk about the fractions as you share it.
